Creating View Permissions

Infowise Ultimate Forms allows you to hide custom views of lists and libraries so that they are only visible to specific audiences.

The operation is very simple, although there is an important caveat – this does not ensure that information not included in a specific view will not be discoverable elsewhere by a determined searcher. To truly guarantee the confidentiality of individual data columns, you will need to set permissions at the column level. See Advanced Column Permissions for more information.

Access to restricted views can be granted by individual or SharePoint security group (preferred).

Instructions

In this example, salesmen commission information is included in the Manager view of the Sales list. We want to make this visible only to sales managers. The Sales Manager security group is already created.

From the list, click the List tab in the ribbon and select the Infowise Design icon.

In Infowise, make sure your list or library is selected, then click View Permissions in the Configure Layouts and Permissions section of the page.

Select the view you want to restrict, then start typing the name of the group or individual to whom you want to grant permissions. Available selections will auto-populate; click in the one desired to select it.

Click Add to add your rule, then click Save.

The view will now be hidden for anyone not having permissions explicitly granted.

Summary

Infowise Ultimate Forms allows you to hide custom views of lists and libraries so that they are only visible to specific audiences.
