Simple Search

To use simple search do the following:

• Select the list that you want to use for searching
• Enter complete or partial words you like to search.

Note: Text-based column types are supported for simple search like: Text, Multi-line text, Choice, Url, Lookup, User and Calculated (with text output). 

• Click the search image

For On Prem the webpart looks like this onthe webpart page.

For M365 the webpart on a site page looks like this.

This search will query all fields for the value entered (it does not apply indexing to the query) 

Note that if the profile is set to alow switching from simple search to advanced the button is available on the search.
