Organizations

NOTE: Organizations are only available in the stand-alone version of Ultimate Forms.

NOTE: when using Hosted by Infowise data source, only a single organization can be created. You can however still create multiple data connections for additional data sources.

Organizations allow you to define one or more sets of data source access configurations, which can then be used to create customizations on one or more objects provided by the data source. For example, an organization can be a MS SQL database or a Salesforce org.

Once you've created an organization, you no longer need to create separate data connections for each table/object, they will all share the data connection contained within the organization.

Organizations are created by administrators, while forms and other features can be created by regular users. That allows enhanced security as only the administrator needs to have access to any sensitive credentials, such as connection strings or consumer secrets.

Once you've created your first organization, you will be presented with a dropdown of available objects/tables and can customize form and workflow settings for each.

You can have more than one organizations (different databases, test/prod environments, multiple clients) and switch between them without the need to log out of Ultimate Forms.

If you choose to create no organizations, you can still use Ultimate Forms by creating direct Data Connections to specific resources. In this scenario, you have to provide all the necessary connection and authentication information in the data connection itself. It is recommended that you use organizations when you are planning to use more than one resource with the same connection information, such as more than one table in a database or more than one object in Salesforce.
