We're always looking for ways to make thing easier with Ultimate Forms. The new List Builder Tool is a new feature that everyone can use. To get started, just click on New list in the command bar on the main Ultimate Forms settings screen:
Every SharePoint solution begins with a list.
Normally, the first thing to do after adding a list in SharePoint is to add fields one by one either on the list settings screen or on the list view screen. The problem with this approach is that there are delays after saving each new field to the list. This makes for a slow and inefficient process.
With the new List Builder Tool you can define your fields on one page then create them all at once.
All configuration is done on one screen with no delays.
You can create lists using the new AI Helper which suggests fields, or click Skip to define fields on your own. The AI Helper feature is awesome, but even if you skip this option, the new List Builder Tool is the fastest way to make a list.
At the next step you will be presented with the main field creation screen:
You can define your list of fields including all configuration options on one screen. The best part about the process is that there are no saves and no delays! An additional option is the ability to define a repeating section by checking off a series of fields and clicking the Create repeating section option on the command bar at the top. Once you have defined your repeating section, you can add Summary Fields to get totals from records in your repeating section. This will automatically create a second SharePoint list to hold your records for the repeating section.
You can define permissions, validation and rules in the field configuration as well. Anything you need to define about fields can be done all on one page!
In fact, you can create the complete form in this one step including advanced functionality without needing to user Form Designer, if you prefer.
Overall, it is a highly efficient list creation tool which everyone should use for each new SharePoint list!
