Ultimate Forms in SharePoint Online stores some of its configurations in a special Azure database. These include action definitions, alert profiles, print templates, etc.
Ultimate Forms uses the site URL as a means to assign these settings to a particular site. For example, when you view alerts for a site, it internally uses the site URL to query the database.
In some cases customers wish to change the site URL for organizational reasons. This will immediately cause all the settings to be orphaned, as the site URL they are assigned to no longer exists.
The following instructions describe the procedure of safely changing the site URL. It ensure that you preserve all settings.
WARNING: Only execute the steps when needed and make sure both old and new URLs are correct. The URL must point to the site itself only, not to any list or page within the site. For example, https://example.sharepoint.com/sites/test is correct, but https://example.sharepoint.com/sites/test/lists/mylist is not.
- Make sure you are a site administrator.
- Open Ultimate Forms using the Design button from any list.
- In the dropdown menu in the top right corner under your initials click on "Change Site URL".
- Enter old and new URLs of the site. By default, new URL will be set to the current site URL, but you can change it to anything else within your tenant.
- Click on Update.
